Victorian Flames of War Championship 2016

Hosted by Conquest 2016 on Saturday March 26, 2016

Organised By Django Upton

Flames of War is a popular and fun set of miniatures rules. Players control a company of World War Two troops in battle using 15mm scale miniatures.

Conquest 2016 is a general games convention held in Melbourne over the Easter weekend (March 25-28, 2016). This Flames of War tournament is one of many events at the convention.

The rules used will be Flames of War Third Edition including any updates and errata listed at www.flamesofwar.com

Play will consist of four rounds of up to 2 hours.

Players will use fully painted 15mm scale Early War armies of up to 1250 points from any EW FOW intelligence briefing. Armies are available to borrow.

Terrain will be pre-set and defined. Missions played will be randomly drawn from the V3 Rulebook.

The draw will be by Swiss chess by accumulated Victory Point score with the best attempt made to match historical opponents. If necessary an extra player will play byes to make the numbers even.

Trophies and prizes will be awarded to the top three placed players by VP. Countback for places shall be by the results of their games if they have played each other, otherwise by sum of opponent’s scores.

A Trophy will be awarded to the Best Army as voted by the players.

Highest VP for the whole tournament will be the Victorian Flames of War Champion for 2016.

Army lists are to be emailed to the organiser at django@alphalink.com.au before Monday March 21, 2016 and you must also register with Conquest 2016 although you can do that on the day.

Entry fee is $15.

Conquest information and online registration is at http://conquest.asn.au
If you played at a previous Melbourne Convention your AON player information has been retained so you can log in using the same username and password as previously.

Conquest 2015 will be held at Advanced Technologies Centre (ATC), Swinburne University, Burwood Rd, Hawthorn (Melways 45/E10).

I am interested but I have no EW armies or books so I would be looking to borrow an army.

Are you planning on running 4 rounds in one day?

Regards
Martin

Yes 4 rounds in one day. Each is only 2 hours max so all done by about 6-7pm.

I have various British, French, German and Italian armies available to borrow so just let me know what sort of thing you'd like to run and I'll sort you out an army.

Have sent in a list as well. The one day format makes this very easy to get to, and it will be great to get some more Flames action.
