Thanks Mark, operation didn't go ahead. They bumped me 3 times and it would have fallen mid January. I declined the date (there was no guarantee I wouldn't have got bumped again) and requested early February. I'm waiting to here back.

That's Glen all right. He thinks he's funny. He certainly wouldn't have meant it. I'm glad you stayed and had a fun weekend. I'm a mate of his and if I had a dollar for every time he'd me to fuck off... Smile

Re: 200 v 300 points
1. The time available for play at normal LoA meetings is more constrained by the venue than has been in years past so shorter games are better than longer.
2. We now have 16 ADLG boards sized specifically for 200 point play.

It may be worth trying out 400 point doubles on a full 6'x4' table and scenario games if people want variety from standard 200 points. 300 points with it's oddly sized table would be a hassle to play.

16 200 point boards! You guys are organised.

We just play 300 on a 6x4 but don't use 1' on one side (so it is a 5x4). We then deploy further in. If we were playing with "run-away" armies I suppose we would have the advantage of a greater depth to run in to but it hasn't been an issue yet.

Yeah they are dual purpose. They are 1.2m x .9m boards with a 5cm strip left on each long edge to make the correct ADLG board size. The other side is painted in full for use with SAGA.

So, has this year's theme be determined?

Is it any 200 point list from any book as long as it's a 1200 to 1550AD option?

The poll has a majority, but not an overwhelming one. After discussing it at a couple League meetings, it seems like the easiest option is to use the 'Late Middle Ages' section of the lists in the ADLG book. Makes everything clearer, and provides a template to do the same with future tournaments.

We could also include dark ages and feudal, as well as late Middle Ages. That allows more more choice, and people have asked for it to be added.

It's still a ways out, but getting a final decision would make things easier for anyone painting a new army, obviously.

So it looks like it will be open to Dark Ages, Feudal and Late Middle Ages.

If Dark Ages and Feudal Lists are included (and allies from all three lists), you will obviously be more inclusive and means my army selection becomes easier (finishing off my Tibetans instead of starting my Samurai). So I'm all for that.

It's generally better for a new system to have a more open first event, too.

I think the inclusion of the Dark ages and Feudal lists is a good idea. There are many lists in those periods that cover the 1200 - 1500 period. I don't think the inclusion of the Dark Age and Feudal lists will see any lists that are super lists, or severely outclassed lists for that matter. It may also mean that we see a greater number of both players and different lists in the comp.

I also think that a decision should be made soon, so that those players who are building armies have time to plan and paint.

Well, I'm not hearing any disagreements. I think we can safely say that it's settled.
