The League of Ancients is proud to host the L'Art de la Guerre Victorian Championship. This event will carry on a proud tradition of annual ancient/medieval tournaments at the League of Ancients that dates back to before some of our members were born, and will be our second year using the L'Art de la Guerre (ADLG) rules.
Lists are to be 200 points, and chosen from the Dark Ages, Feudal Ages or Late Middle Ages chapters of the ADLG book. Please submit army lists to Michael Bornstein at mbornste@tpg.com.au by 10th November. Players are encouraged to use www.littlearmybuilder.com/adg/en to build their lists, and "print" as PDFs, as having all the lists in the same format will make the umpires' job easier. Please also specify what year your list is from. If the options you've chosen are available across a range of years, pick one.
Umpiring on the day will be carried out by a team of three "playing umpires", Michael Bornstein, Martin Morgan and Tyler Jefferson. In the event of a ruling needed when two of these umpires play one another, the third will be called. The League has a strong culture of fun and fair play, and so we expect that there will be little actual need for umpire's rulings.
New players are welcomed, and loan armies can be arranged. Please contact us in advance of the event so that we can arrange an army for you, if needed.
Trophies will be awarded for:
1st Place
2nd Place
Best painted (by player vote)
Sportsmanship (by umpires' choice)
In the event of countback being needed to determine first or second place, the first level of countback will be whether the two tied players faced one another, and who won. If that doesn't resolve the tie, we'll go to strength of schedule (the combined scores of your opponents throughout the tournament). If that still doesn't resolve a winner, we'll go to who is using the chronologically earlier list. |
