In an attempt to minimise the painting required, I'll take the Seljuk Turks (III/74b). They'll be there in March.

Cheers,

Thanks for the games today Damian and Django. Little bit excited that I learnt that LH now can rear support themselves. Now Iíll have to see if itís worth fielding Art when the rest of your army is Cav and LH (I suspect not).

Lh rear support is all fine and dandy until the lead element can't recoil and dies. It can be risky.

There was a suggestion on the DBA Fanaticus forum that if the Mongols field Art it should be positioned in the camp to: shoot at enemy who approach the camp; reduce its vulnerability (its at the back of the board); and preserve the mobility of the army.

The Campaign Map Starting Positions
After much internal deliberations and colouring in without a mouse I have uploaded the map to gdrive. If you can't view let me know.

Empty map:

Starting positions:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1io4CBX_G2BFQFysPrsnY3kWsM7EtmFlq/view?usp=sharing

# Each player starts with 6 provinces.
# Each player has 1 offensive army that can attack any province adjacent to that player's own Kingdom.
# Each province has a defensive army that can't move out of it (there is always a battle).
# An army can select any troops to it per battle as per its army list.
# If a Kingdom does not attack another, its offensive army is not available that turn.
# Access to the Mediterranean lets a player reach any other coastal province up to the Dardanelles just like a normal move.
# If multiple Kingdoms are in the same province, the players are their discretion may a) divide teams equally and play BBDBA, with the victors battling each other immediately afterwards until only 1 player has won, or b) a round robin competition with playoff ties until only 1 player has won.
# There are no alliances, there is only War!

Excellent - nice work Damian.

I finally got round to watching 'Knightfall' on SBS (via OnDemand), so I'm raring to go for battles with this theme. And I also realised I'm painting about 90% of an ADLG '218 - Mongol Empire' army in the process so will also paint the extra six elements so I can bring one army to League meets to play both rulesets.

Campaign questions:

1. Is this is everyone's armies?

III/74b Seljuk Turk - Spitzicles (Peter)
IV/2 Cicilian Armenian - leadgend (Django)
IV/6a Syrian - Damian
IV/17 Later Crusader - Timur, Lord T (Andrew)
IV/35 Mongol Conquest - von Lucky (Karsten)
IV/46 Ilkhanid - Lyle

2. MB is Michael Bornstein and GF is Frosty? If so what armies are they planning on fielding?

Once the above is confirmed I'm ready to make my selection (hopefully as wise as Kublai Khan) and let the knights... fall.

Geoff Frost will play one of the Egyptian army options; Mr B will take over Syrians and I'll switch to a Byzantinian.

The Olympics have taken up my tv time that I haven't gone past ep1. Timur has indicated that he will probably destroy you first Smile

Hopefully, the Kingdoms on the right side of the map can make inways to open battles up to the lefties.

Lyle (LyleD) - IV/46 Ilkhanid
Timur - IV/17 Later Crusader
Andrew (Lord T) - IV/17 Later Crusader

Hah. I have been putting into practice Mongol tactics of pretending to flee...

Also - I have one too many provinces. The two north east ones I have that border Lyle's south east province can be combined.

Maybe next version of the map numbers provinces to make commands easier to track?

Damian,

Just a quick question, what size are the battlefields - 600mm x 600mm or 700mm x 700mm?

Glad I have a buffer between Timurlane and myself. Wink

Cheers,
