This thread is to garner interest for a FoW megagame early in 2014.

What infantry type army or armies do you have that you would be interested in fielding and what time period? I'll let this run for a few weeks - then make a decision on feedback.

The plan would be that every participant fields a legal army with only combat and weapons platoons (say around 650 points) from an infantry company and you also bring a contingent (say around 350 points) of divisional/corps support that can be used by anyone on the day.

I'll kick things off:
- German (any company type) in Europe during summer - EW
- German (any company type) in Europe during summer - MW
- German (any company type) in Europe during summer - LW

The plan would be that we play a historical scenario based on what the most people could provide. Seeing forces on both sides of the table representing a division would an awesome sight.

Soviets, Mid-to-late - small collection though... (I could bring lots of support).

Good idea Von Lucky. Smile

Edit: My fantasy is to have some sort of large scale Late War Soviets vs Germans, something along the lines of Berlin or something like that, street fighting with lots of the late monsters, but I doubt that too many other people would prefer to use Soviets.

I've got mid-to-late Canadians in Europe in summer. They could pass for Brits, in a pinch.

Ah, fond memories of 2008. Sounds like a great idea to me Karsten. I have mid-war Russian infantry and Bersaglieri. Perhaps a desert battle would work well?

I'd be in that.
Either mid or late war Soviet, mid (or late at a pinch) German.

Noting the Infantry emphasis in Karsten's query:

Finns
Strelkovy
Cossacks
British 8th Army/Australians
Afrika Korps Schutzen/Panzer Grenadiers
Fallschirmjaegers
Bersaglieri
German Grenadiers/Panzer Grenadiers
British Paratroopers

cheers
Mark

DAK Shutzen/PzGren for EW/MW, also suitable for LW Italy.
British 8th Army for EW/MW, also suitable for LW Italy.
US Paras, MW/LW
French EW (MW if a list was written)

Also have partially built LW PzGrens and desert Bersaglieri. With sufficient notice could do most countries/periods as I have a LOT of unpainted lead. Smile

And there's a lot of good post-WWII 15mm stuff coming out now, both from Battlefront and others.

At one company per player a division is a LOT of players a side. A Brigade maybe?

I mean representing forces from the same division - not the whole division, obviously.

Alternatively something like El Alamein could have Italian and German companies intermingled on the table.
