This was posted to the DBR discussion list and I had to share it.....

http://www.juxtapoz.com/current/drawings-of-men-farting-from-the-japanese-edo-period-1603-1868

Who says that only Anglo-Saxon culture is based on fart jokes..... I can just imagine Benny Hill in his cheesy (and now entirely verboten) Asian character make up doing a voice over description of this 'fine art' whilst, nearby a cute if rather blue-eyed Geisha holding a beach ball discovers a slow if noisy leak in the beach ball...

cheers
Mark

PS In particular I love the early form of galloper guns!

Honestly, how do you find this stuff? Laughing

I sometimes think that the internet is the cosmos' way of telling you that you have too much time on your hands. Rolling Eyes

As Richard Stubbs once showed me in a campaign game many moons ago, a man can never have enough tricorn wearing figures....

Sadly, with my myriad Pirates of all different denominations, periods, sexes and races, monkey pirates are indeed a perfect fit!

cheers

I think this dudes comments say it all for me

"I am not a man of infinite means or a rich and fulfilling education. I do not understand, or appreciate most of the "art" I see. However, grown men having a fart battle so epic that trees, cats, horses, and roadside BBQ stand are destroyed, is a subject that is timeless and poignant. Well done Edo period, well done."

An obvious addition for the samurai or Ikko Ikki armies loving created by some of our members (farting warriors, not tricorne wearing monkeys).
