Hello,

I am a long time collector and painter of armies, now looking to start gaming in earnest. I am posting to ask if anyone is interested in playing a few games to help get me started on Flames of War. I have three small armies for Early and Late.

Regards,

Neil.

I'm no fearless veteran of FoW, but I'm certainly happy to bring out some of my Soviets to give you a few games. Would an AM start suit you?

Let me know how many points you have so I can throw together a few quick lists. Smile

Thanks for replying Noah.

Unfortunately I was not available because I was surprised with a Grand Prix bucks party... so my apologies for getting back to you a little late.

I could play up to about 1200 in any time setting but I suppose it's better to start off with 500-600 until I get the hang of it.

Next month's meeting will be the day of my wedding also so I guess that's off the table. Perhaps something in May?

Not a problem Layne, I've had overlapping schedules often enough myself with LoA.

I'm afraid that after this meeting I'll be out of the country for a long time, but I'm sure there's a couple of people around who'll be more than willing to give you a game.

If not, whilst you'll end up in the deep end, going to the april tournament is good fun and everyone is willing to help you along as well.

Neil, I can give you a game of FOW at the May Meeting. Just let me know what you are bringing and I'll bring something appropriate to oppose it for a learning game.

Thanks Leadgend.

May meeting could work for me.

I have a 650 points list drawn up which seems to cover the bases for training.

Late War Brazilian Rifle Company, Confident Trained

HQ

2 x 2-squad Rifle Platoon

Weapons Platoon

AT Platoon - 3 x 57mm

I&R Platoon

3 x US M5A1 Stuart

What armies have you got?

Ok, I'll knock something up with LW Germans.

painted I've got EW French and Germans; Desert British, Germans and Italians; US Paras, Winter MW/LW Germans, LW 21st Pz, and enough unpainted stuff to open a shop. Smile

I don't suppose you would have a Mid-War US Bofors 40mm?

Nae worries, I was hoping to buy one as it would pretty much complete my Brazilian Rifle Company.

Hi Neil,

Did you want a morning or afternoon game? I am trying to organise my roman campaign game in the other slot.

Django.

Hello Django,

I typically have to go to market on Sunday mornings, so afternoon is better for me.

Thanks -

Hi all,

Just a quick note to thank Django once again for the game last month, it was highly instructive and loads of fun. Naturally I made a nice big pile of newbie mistakes so I've gone back to the drawing board and put together something bigger and better.

Would anyone like a game at the next meeting, afternoon slot?

I can play at about 1300 points, late war.

Cheers -

Neil

As no-one else has replied I guess we could play again. 1300 points is much more balanced in that a variety of troop types can be used.
