I was thinking of organising a War of the Roses event next year. 8 players (4 Lancastrian, 4 Yorkist chosen randomly) fight with 200 point armies in a knock out format. First round losers go into a plate event mirroring the main event. 3 games of singles. After the final and plate final, finalists combine to fend off Scottish and French invasions led by the losing semi-finalists.

I'll be getting in some DBR practice in December and January, but would like to hold this event during the February and March meetings. If you're interested, then list your name below and I'll send you a copy of the format.

Regards, Lyle

Sounds good to me. I am interested. I should be able to cobble together 200 points of WotR figures.

Regards
Martin

I'm sure that what I've got can make up 2-3 armies and plenty of spares as well.

I don't have an army, but would be interested in playing if one of the spare forces is available.

Sounds like fun Lyle. I'm keen. And I have figures. Probably enough to lend some to Tyler too. Very Happy

Okay, it's good to see people keen on a bit of medieval mayhem. Fully subscribed in less than 12 hours. I'll organise some cards and those of you who are at the meeting in December can pick your "character".

Battle lines have been drawn between Yorkist and Lancastrian factions:

Tyler Jefferson (Edward IV-Y) vs Lyle Daymond (Exeter-L)
Andrew Wright (Norfolk-Y) vs Andrew Silk (Buckingham-L)
Martin Morgan (Warwick-Y) vs Michael Bornstein (Somerset-L)
Richard Gordon (Bolton-Y) vs Jared Lynn (Northumberland-L)

Will history be reversed? Who will be the winners and losers? All will be revealed in 2017.

Richard, will you be ok to wait for a first round game in February? Unfortunately, the Duke of Northumberland will still be taking his vapors in January.

Ok, two games have been played with Michael B and Tyler as the victors. Two first round games are yet to be played. The two Andrews will possibly meet outside the League, while Jared and Ian Poade will go head to head in the morning.

Thanks Ian for stepping in for Richard Gordon. The second round games draw will be determined after the morning games, and will be held in the afternoon.

The Andrew vs Andrew match is planned for 16th Feb. I will let you know what the result is. I predict the winners name will be Andrew.

Is the 2x2 player game to finish this competition still going ahead? I had some idea it might have been in June but was just wondering if that was so.
