I'd be happy to put up my hand for the March meeting - don't own an army though...

Thanks Paul

We have stood the Warmaster day (hopefully) over until the March meeting. Both you and Patonius seem keen, and I do have some others expressing interest, so let's aim for that. I have already organised other games for February now, sorry.

cheers

I definitely want to run a series of round robin 2000 point Warmaster battles at the LoA in March if there is enough interest. I am happy to loan my armies (which include just about every army except Tomb Kings or Lizardmen). Please post your interest here or PM me.

Rules and lists may be lawfully downloaded from the great Rick Priestly's website:

http://www.ricks-warmaster.com/

I would also love to run a low-key Mighty Empires Campaign at the LoA.

Some rules systems are simply too good to be allowed to die...

cheers

3 of us are now confirmed for the March LoA. Patonius and Paul, are you still interested, loan armies will not be a problem?

cheers

Hi Mark, I'll bring Orcs.

Have you considered using the WM Revolution rules? It carries over some sensible improvements from Ancients.

Thanks Jayden,

I'll have a closer look at these. The aim is to organise a series of "friendlies" and players can always agree to use these for their own games.

cheers

Having looked at the Warmaster Revolution, I think we should apply the following:

Command phase – maximum of 3 orders to a unit in row
◦Movement – Drive back – units driven back move as one block without rearranging stands
◦Combat phase –
◾Charging - using zones, any attacker’s stand moves c2c of the closest attacked stand, enveloping charge
◾Sequence of combat – maximum of two rounds of combat, if enemy is wiped out unit can advance 20cm and fight another two rounds in the same turn, no charge bonuses for advance. If enemy is not wiped, victorious unit can fall back or carry on fighting in enemy’s next turn with all the bonuses and wounds being carried over from the previous turn.
◾Attacks – all stands must fight to their front edge if they can, stand has always at least 1 Attack,
◾Support – supporting units are part of combat and can pursue, when infantry charging on initiative charging unit can take one unit with it to get support, supports count before combat round
◾Fall back – unit can only fall back outside its “line of sight area”.
◦End phase - Units brought down to 1 stand from 3 count as 0.5 point for purpose of break point"

But I will leave it up to individual players, if anyone strongly does not want to use the above, although I think they are sensible and fair, I for one will not die in the trench over the issue.

I think we have at least 4 if not 6 players (Paul and Patonius are you coming?) so we are definitely on.

cheers
Mark

No worries Paul,

At very least you can join in one of the other games if we have an odd number.

Warmaster is 10mm but as it's Fantasy there are plenty of larger monsters etc.
