I have recently bought the lead for a samurai army and will be sending it to Sri Lanka to be painted in the second half of the year. It will be suitable for DBR, ADLG, DBA and HOTT.
I believe that Tyler and Karsten are also building Japanese armies, so it might be fun to start a campaign in 2018 (a long way off I know). Perhaps use ADLG, modified a little to allow arquebus armed ashigaru to take place in the battle line, or just use straight ADLG in a more medieval setting.
What do people think?

Absolutely right, I'll be sending off my Samurai soon.
Didn't have an army the last time this campaign ran. Would love to play now that I will. |

My typically Japanese army is suitable for both ADLG or FoGR.
Always like to use toys as well. |

I happen to have a early samurai army as well, but I haven't played ADLG yet. _________________ Et tu, Brute? |

Well, enough miniatures have been sent off to full the second, third and fourth ranks of a Samurai infantry army. I'm currently painting generals and front-rankers at home.
The aim is to run Late Samurai in November's ADLG tournament. From there, I could either use them as-is for a campaign in 2018, or add a few arquebus ashigaru if we do decide to homebrew some rules for those. |

So the Samurai ran at the ADLG comp as planned.
Eager to get them on-table again in 2018 with this campaign. |

Samurai arrived today from Sri Lanka, so I'm starting to base now!

Right, I'm doing this. I will not stall (again), nor be distracted (again).
Are we aiming for 200 AP with all options for list 264 - Later Samurai? What other lists are we including?

What are we doing about Teppo armed ashigaru?
After Cancon my focus will be this (having finally settled on colours for everything).
If Tom can do this, then I can do this. |

Tyler thought just treat them as Crossbowmen
Seems a good idea ,I would just make their range 3MU not 4MU , the way FoGR handles it
Have to work out an addition to the lists too.... |

I am ready. This will get me playing ADLG.
Karsten, I did a count of my collection and can easily make 200 points. I will run the Ikko Ikki as massed ashigaru with 2HW. It is a good fit as I think they were overrated in FOGR. |
