As the Tivoli are changing their hours of operation and opening specially for us on Sunday , there will be no kitchen operating

We are welcome to bring food in . There is a milk bar down the first street to the left as you leave the Club , or a 7/11 to the right on Dandenong Rd

Thanks for the heads-up. Is this just this Sunday or every Sunday going forward?

Don't want to seem out of place here... but for some time I've felt that we, as a club, should explore our options - it won't be the same but hey we've moved before and who knows. I'm sure the committee will think of something... e.g maybe talk to an RSL club?

Its always good to have options but I think its worth remembering that the main reason for our meeting is to play games .

The Tivoli provides a great location for that and we can store all our boards and terrain

Plus there's a bar

Kitchen service ( as opposed to a shop) is to my mind just an extra

German beer is a food group. Means we don’t have a balanced diet, but I think we can survive. Thanks Richard.

Well I guess the club could always see this as a boon, maybe we could invest in a pie warmer etc...? Wouldn't be too expensive and would create extra funds for war gaming.

Edit: And a cheap microwave.

I'm not privy to any discussions that have occurred with the Tivoli but, like Martin, this development has me concerned. It seems that the decision to open only for the League could so easily be followed by the decision to close completely on Sundays. Could it be wise to start looking at alternatives- if anyone knows of any?

I have been chatting with the new management over the last few weeks ,we have an agreement for next year ( at a reduced rental so our $ pressure has eased)

I will also look at fall back positions in the area . I f you have suggestions please PM me .

I will talk direct to the Chef and see what can be done , possibly with a reduced menu etc

UPDATE ON LUNCH AT THE CLUB!

The Club Tivoli kitchen is trying out a new idea for lunch. A $15 a head buffet for 20+ people! If we don't get at least 20 then the league will be out of pocket but who can resist the low low price of $15 so leave the sandwiches at home this week!
