Any takers for this campaign system? How many battlegrounds to play? As AT-43 games are quick a 1 week per session is realistic making the first phase a 3-monther.

Armies are the standard 4. If more than 4 players interested then can have 2+ per faction.

Factions and Players

THE {Tristan}
KAR {ara}
UNA {pooleys}
RB {Alexg}

I have units for all factions but not much specialist infantry.

Ara and I are perparing armies for this. Planning to place an order shortly to round my collection off enough to make a mixture of 2k pt combinations.

Therians for me.

Cheers Wink

Space Monkeys for me. Order done, so should be ready to go pretty soonish.

Also have a 'smallish' UNA force, which could be used.

I think AlexG is keen to play as well, he has Red Blok. He's ordering in reinforcements as well, I think.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by the one week sessions, 3-month phases etc?

Reckon you could gimme a quick rundown on how the campaign plays, Damien?

what? order? from where?

Frostbite has 2 phases.

Phase 1: 2k companies, 3 'turns' (a week).
Phase 2: 3k companies, 4 'turns'.

There are 3-4 sectors with 2xsectors+1 companies per faction (can't remember) .

I think it would be reasonable to expect that each turn can be played during/between a LoA meets.

Getting games done over LoA meets sound really good. Have you come across other players? There were a whole bunch of guys from WSWA who played a game at LoA earlier this year, about 5-6 players...

Ordering from the Warstore at the moment - some very cheap stuff on sale.

Yeah, I just sent off the order this morning for Tristan and myself. I have no idea how long it'll take them, here's hoping everything goes okay.

I think Alex has just done his order as well, although he's ordered stuff not in stock, so it might take a while...

So don't just leave that unfinished - tell me where! Laughing

Same sort of prices as Warstore?

...and are the Cogs out yet?

Alex here, sign me up for Red Blok as I have some reinforcments incoming from the warstore! I do have starter set therians and UNA if that can help anyone out?

One turn (week) each meet should be manageable, though maybe with only one battleground to start with, just to get used to the system? It would be easy enough to increase the size of the game if its moving quickly.

The other complication could be if three players meet in one location leaving someone without a game? We should come up with someway to resolve this before it happens.

Im happy with 4 players to start, but again should be easy to add some more people in if we get some more interest.

Sounds like this has got enough momentum, great. I may need to borrow the odd Therian golem or two, just to round out some infantry squads. I've more than enough striders to meet my needs...

Cheers Wink

The 1 meet 1 week/turn will be for playing just 1 sector (there are 3). This will force 2 games per player per turn which is duable in a meet.

Additional sectors would each add another 2-3 games per player per turn which would need multiple players or more frequency. Lets stick to 1 sector...

added player affiliations.

I will have to scan the frostbite supplement booklet which has the scenario maps etc and send that out to people and come to a consensus (how therian) as to which sector to play. And get a FAQ/rulings from the AT-43 forum...

placed an order for UNA with miniaturemarket (the other place). see how they go.

Have to agree with one sector, to start with anyway, certainly with more players you could add more sectors which could make it interesting.

Wish I had known about the miniaturemarket before I ordered, they seem to have alot more stuff in stock atm. I have 2000 points so I can play, but some reinforcments would add some flexibility.

Happy to lend you some golems tristan if it helps. I thought therians could never have enough striders as you can construct new ones mid battle! Shocked

Thanks, Alex. I'd love more striders (Hekats), but the funds don't stretch that far yet... My collection will initially only consist of one Type 1 strider, so no need to worry too much about the strider swarm...

However, if we keep this campaign going, I'll happily buy some more forces... I'll need more infantry.

Miniature Market looks like a good place to get the extras... They're a little more pricy but much better stock levels!

Cheers Wink

Got your email, I've replied with my stated preference for Emerald Mountains (I want to start as far away from Therians as possible). Wink

So, does this mean you'll be providing us with the campaign rules as well?

I had wondered whether that was the reason for your choice... Razz Rolling Eyes
