OK, for the decidely unknowledgeable (and lazy), what figure ranges are available for Japanese troops and what periods?
Are people collecting 15mm or 25mm?

Size: 15mm
Ranges: the few I know are...
Two Dragons (nice, but squat with pumpkin heads...)
Eureka (Very nice, on the large size and slightly earlier period...)
Essex (I don't like these onese...)
Peter Pig (My favourites, very good for this period...)

My army is 15mm and all Eureka. The army is designed to be morphable, so I haven't added the sashimono on any samurai except for the generals.
I guess any period is acceptable (from Richards previous indication), I've designed a list for pre and post 1592.

The question of whether to Sashimono is a good one . Von Lucky is right , for his purposes it doesn't matter but I need the kewl look
I have mostly done my first Ashigaru unit but I think they'll need them to "pop" a bit more .
I'm not really happy with their look but I'm trying not to cry til I finsh their bases |

What colours have you used? I find that using contrasting colours will help in that (one unit is red/black, the other red/white, the third white/black). I have decided to keep the palette tight; with blue, red, black and white used in the army. Helps that the Matsuura scheme is well documented. Patterns have been used for the samurai & generals with "extra" popping colours. |

Have just seen that Wargames Factory will be putting out a range of 25mm plastic Samurai kits "in the next 6-8 weeks".
