Salutations Gentlemen
I propose that we begin a MAURICE Campaign beginning in April.
Campaign Rules as per straight out of the book.
All National Advantages (NA) are available with the exception of Lethal Volleys.
Scale 28mm.
Base Widths = 40mm. Obviously 'close enough' will suffice if you can arrange your unit frontages to equal 160mm (give or take 10 or 20mm or so). For example:
Bob's units consist of 4 bases each of 40mm squares, (no problems there). John however has units consisting of 50mm squares. He can depoly his units in line using 3 bases (150mm, so pretty darn close) or in 'Mass' with 4 bases with two forward and two behind (a frontage of 100mm) Close enough to the 80mm frontage that Bob's lads in Mass would take. .
Armies can be Historical such as 7YW Prussians, or fictional / 'Imagi-Nations' such as the Holy Electorate of Greater Schwarzkopf.
Army Size: 100 APs (with no more than 30 APs spent on NA.
Please reply here if you are interested. I can supply an Army or two if required.
What's that you say? "Never played MAURICE"! Not a problem. The rules are dead simple and can be learned very quickly. I hope to play a couple of games in March at the meet, so pop over and I'll run you through the rules and answer any questions you might have.
So powder off that wig and don your Tricorn and let's "Have At"! on the Field of Honour.
Cheers
Scott 'AKA' trailape.

Can't say I'll do the campaign, but I'll see if I can come by for a practise game.

Hi Scott,

I'm interested. Will give me incentive to get on with painting. I'm doing British, Dutch and German city states. They're being done as Spanish Succession but could masquerade as 7YW if there are no 'button counters' scrutinizing too closely.

Shouldn't be a problem having 100 AP by April. I've been basing infantry and cavalry on 50 x 50 bases and was going to do artillery on 50 x 100.

Mark

Like I said, any 'Lace War' Period troops / Armies are legitimate, including everything from 1690s - 1800 and Imagi-Nations.
I know Arnuad will be joining us with his French Revolutionary War French Army.
50x50 bases work well. One of the great things about MAURICE is base size isn't a game changer.
One must be a Gentleman about such things Laughing

I'm sure we could provide an army if you're interested?

I am certainly up for a Maurice game in April with my Russians (with some fudged artillery and cavalry) and so am happy to start in the campaign but cannot accept a huge ongoing commitment (having just quit from the Napoleonics campaign because of my rather mad work load at the moment).

Am yet to play Maurice, but I have read the rules and have the cards!

Hi Guys
Unfortunately I'll need to delay the start of the campaign by a month, (from 21 April until 19 May).
Terribly sorry, but familiy commitments beckon me to Canberra that weekend.
The good news is that will give us more time to get our miniatures ready.
Can I get a confirmation from you all what scale you prefer?
15/ 18mm or
28mm.
I can provide armies in both scales, both with a 40mm BW.
18mm Armies have miniature on 40mm wide by 30mm deep bases:

28mm Armies are based on 40mm Square bases:

Can I also get a confirmation again (directly emailed to me at) :
trailape@hotmail.com
and an indication of if you require an army to borrow.
Cheers
